The city centre development set to give Manchester a taste of Manhattan

Property Alliance Group reveals plans for 42 ultra-modern city centre apartments – designed to make Manchester more like New York

A £14.5m residential development aims to make Manchester more like New York, bringing 42 Manhattan inspired apartments to the city centre.

The high-end cosmopolitan apartments are being developed by Property Alliance, who also brought us Oxygen Tower, just a short walk from Piccadilly, and AXIS Tower opposite the old hacienda, near the Bridgewater Hall.

The project, ‘Manhattan, Manchester’, is just one of the city’s new luxury developments, located just off, you guessed it, New York Street.

Along with this plans for swanky apartments at Salford’s new ‘urban neighbourhood’ have recently been announced, along with a renovation of Talbot Mill in Castlefield.

When asked about the design and influence of Alliance’s Manhattan, off New York Street, Manchester Jon Matthews, Founding Director of 5 Plus, said, “The Manhattan project is inspired by the New York brownstone residences.

Handsome proportions and an intrinsic timeless quality. The building is re-used and re-imagined for right now. Its been designed to have a boutique city feel. Its position in the market and its position in the city centre is unique.”

The price of a one bedroom apartment starts from £196,000.

But what do you get for your money?

Just like a modern New York pad, the rooms are spacious and simplistic.

There’s a full concierge service for all residents and will be a multi-level garden wall housing each apartment’s private terrace.

Each apartment has floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces laden with greenery – working both for added privacy and to complement the views.

The new development aims to “bring the epitome of New York loft-style elegance to the vibrant M1 postcode, blending industrial architecture with contemporary design and living.”

The 7th floor duplex penthouses will offer views over King Street and across the city.

Heads at Property Alliance say the development “aims to give you the best of both cities as Manchester is undoubtedly one of the most exciting destinations in the UK.”
